Pre-lunch Remix Fire

A-Trak, in true party form hopped onto Zedd's "Spectrum with Clockwork and laid out a banger.

Clockwork has been all over the music spectrum recently. With his side (or just "current") project RL Grime, it's cool to see this side come back out.

Anywho. It's A-trak. It's good. PARTAAY.

Pretty Gets Hot-Nasty

Oh Pretty Lights, you sample so right.

Check out Pretty Lights track "You Get High". It's hip-hop, its breakbeat, its funky, it's perfect as usual.

You can snag the track HERE

On the Pulse of Things

PRFFTT (still have no idea how to pronounce this so I'll make tooty noises instead) is back at it with Svyable and their remix of JJAMZ track "Heartbeat".

This one keeps its composure throughout laying down gorgeous synth riffs and female vocals.

Snag the free download. This one is a keeper!

Cheapshot gets Resurrected

It wouldn't be a fulfilling week unless you had a new Cheapshot joint in your life. And since DJ Cheapshot is a man of the people, for the people and of the people, he's obliged. For all of humanity's sake, Cheapshot presents the classic and timeless Resurrection from when Common was Common Sense, a young and lithe indie rapper from Chicago. Now he's Common, an actor, an activist and someone with massive commercial appeal.

This album, Resurrection, was on constant play when it came out and is still in heavy rotation. This along with Cheapshot's last offering of The beatnuts is like he's taking requests from me. Next he'll be on some Pharcyde, or some Erick Sermon or maybe even some Mobb Deep. Whatever the case, he's been doing the greatness for awhile now and this track is no different.

Enjoy the track, enjoy the Free Download and follow the man. It's all so worth it.

Ghost Ark gets lovely with his EP

Holy crap it's Monday. Olympics, live music and lots of beer has seemingly sapped my entire weekend. While I don't regret the weekend, it doesn't detract from the fact that it's MONDAY already. So because of that, let's sit back, sip our industrial sludge grade coffee, catch up on our emails and enjoy this great EP from Ghost Ark.

Ghost Ark hasn't appeared on this blog before, but that isn't because of lack of quality content. Hailing from Coventry in England, this lad knows how to lay it down. Atmospheric, bassy, using guitar, strings and synths to set the mood, this EP will get you through at least 30 minutes of your day without even knowing it. And who knows, you'll probably get loads of stuff done as well!

Follow Ghost Ark HERE, download his EP HERE, and give him a few coppers for his outstanding work.

Polish Ambassador with more Goodies

Another joint off of the upcoming SuperPowers album from Polish Ambassador gets us really jiving with the glitched out purply goodness.

Polish Ambassador has a history with this blog (See?) and for good reason. Whether remixing, or popping out originals (Also check his work as Ample Mammal) he delivers every single time.

Also, this guy is one of those rarities where he makes damned near everything he does Free to download (HERE), so follow him and stay on top of everything he puts out. You won't be sorry.

Zaika Gets Sexy With U

Well hello there, sexy time. Zaika, out of Germany, gives us some nice, simple, but sexy music to get down to on this Sunday morning. Zaika is one of those artists that dabbles in different genres and we as fans are all the better for it. from rnb, to bass, to garage, Zaika's really got a good handle on this producing thing, especially for someone who has just started (since November 2011!!).

This track shows off his Future RnB side. The vocals really complete this track. I sat there at first listen thinking during the intro "This track would be badass if some vocals kicked in". And sure enough, the vocals dropped and made the track complete.

Check out Zaika's Soundcloud for lots of tracks, and a lot of freebies mixed in. And as a bonus check out the second track, Leave The World Behind for some more goodness.

Top it off with a free download and you're set.

Friday SuperGroove

Caught this one off of Baauer's feed and I am happy I did.

Trending with the trap explosion (808 revival) Sweater Beats brings a much more delicate funky style.

MLLNDLLR blends great hip-hop drums with chopped up glitched out vocals that are sure to get you moving!

and for some bonus Friday jammin

FRIDAY!

Friday. New Noisia. Boomsk.

Shlohmo goes Changin'

Thursday night means its not Friday night. So because of that sadness, have some Shlohmo. This is nice slow and low and lets you forget that you're angry.

One more thing, though. Follow Shlohmo for much more stuff. Good stuff at that!

Better late than never?

Stylust always pops up on my radar, mainly because he picks outstanding tracks to work with and makes some crazy remixes.

This one came out a couple years ago, but was buried in his catalogue (Stylust has 56 tracks on Soundcloud!)

Just the right blend of smooth female vocals and gritty dub-synth. Crank it up and let money makers shake.

Big thanks to FrozenStorm for throwing this one at my ears.

NeuroPlastic Records; Where The Lawless Win!

Speaking of remix competitions (Remember ME?), our good pals at NeuroPlastic Records hosted a great competition using Joachim de Lux's track Le Rondo des Sirenes. We profiled the launch HERE and the winner is in! Check it below!

The good folks at NeuroPlastic Records will be releasing the winner and the runners up in a remix EP that will be available closer to the end of July for download. So let's all enjoy the track below, follow NeuroPlastic Records, and congratulate the winner for the great submission!

FRESH

I'll let the good ole dictionary intro the latest from Snubluck & Been Stellar:

— adj
1. not stale or deteriorated; newly made
2. newly acquired, created, found, etc: fresh publications
3. novel; original: a fresh outlook
4. latest; most recent: fresh developments
5. bright or clear: a fresh morning
6. chilly or invigorating: a fresh breeze
7. not tired; alert; refreshed
8. not worn or faded: fresh colors
9. newly or just arrived; straight: fresh from the presses

Infectious and Inventive

Every now and then that remix sneaks up on you that just blends so much that you love, you can't help but get super excited.

This one did it for me. Machine Drum blends a great gritty synth and fresh drum sound with Johnny's amazing deep vocals to create a dreamy EDM pile of awesome!

Free download on this so have at it!

Polish Ambassador offers sexy rub down music.

Queue the Barry White voice because Polish Ambassador is laying down something silky.

"Earth Crush" blends something old and something new. Mixing some signature sounds of PA with new elements of drum and chill synth that makes this original something that should stick with you.

Enjoy!

Never be alone again

Holy GOD.

When I put on this Dr. Ozi Remix of Justice and Simian's notorious We Are Your Friends, I was like OH!, Then I was like Hmmm.... then I flipped all the tables.

So yeah. Turn this one up and enjoy because when you mix something as awesome as Justice with dubstep that sounds like Satan yelling through Darth Vader's helmet..

WIN

Hump Day Smooth Jam

Brooklyn's Starcadian has a silky smooth remix of Freedom Fry's 'Summer in the City' up this morning. This is a lovely treat, and truly does the original justice. Sit back and let this one roll, and grab the free DL while you're at it!

Woody goes slow and low with Biggie Smalls

Woody retouches Biggie's classic and adds the vocals to match. This is straight up dope, sexy and would make a gangbanger want to call his mama.

Woody (follow him HERE) has been re-touching classic hip hop tracks for awhile now and adding his own personal touch to each (check out his Big Poppa remix) to make them so good coming from a different angle. This one though he adds vocals from a sexy songstress Carlitta Durand adding a new level of goodness.

I am so excited to see what he has up his sleeve and will be clocking his site on the regular to see what newness he comes out with.

Bonobo gets remixed by Letherette

Bonobo mixed by Letherette and put out by Ninja Tune?  Did I just get slapped by the Awesome Goblin?

Well maybe I did because this remix is one stellar groove.  Bonobo's a stalwart in the industry, but many may not know Letherette (check them HERE). Whatever you know about Letherette or Bonobo, this track is definitely worth a repeated listen.

spacetrippy

Tobacco, AKA Black Moth Super Rainbow, AKA You really shouldn't smoke to any of this guys music (OK so maybe the last one was for me) is at it again with "Sunburned Face" and "Windshield Smasher".

I was introduced to this Pittsburgh act via the "Fucked Up Friends" album and just instantly feel in love with how crazy awesome and trippy as hell this music is.

So it looks like we have some goodness from both the Tobacco and BMSR moniker. All up for free download. Have at it!

Indie Dance for your Soul

Indie Dance Tuesday anyone? So that's not really a thing here, but it feels appropriate today when two good indie dance tracks show their faces.

One from a great producer named Ryan Paradise out of Chicago (Follow HERE) and the other a producer by name of MyKill (follow HERE) out of San Francisco. Both have done good stuff in the past, but today is the first for both to appear on the blog. I suggest following these two gents and enjoying their back catalogue.

This track from Ryan Paradise is a slick remix of Goldroom's great original Fifteen and with the grooving bassline makes the track a danceable and head bobbing. The second, a great remix of a Digerati track Peak Performance. As a bonus, the Digerati EP where this song wa staken from and remixed is quite good on its own. Check that HERE.

Gettin' Primal with LoBounce and Ooah

Well here it is folks. The full EP (get it HERE) from LoBounce and Ooah. A day after they teased us with Peligrosa (HERE) they give us the rest today. It's not what you might expect from the two who deal in slightly different mediums, but they make this work and work VERY well.

You know LoBounce by now and you definitely know Ooah (or at least his full time outfit Glitch Mob) but now get to know this side project, which doesn't have a name to this point. That either signifies a one-and-done mentality to this project or just that they haven't gotten around to it yet. Hopefully the reason for no name is the latter because I would love to see more from these great artists.

Well.Played.William

William Carney is back at it and has me smitten with another of his Ellie Goulding remixes.

Check out his previous DNB creation HERE

This one definitely pitches way more wobbles and buzzy bass goodness that are giving my SOLs a workout.

Don't forget to give Sir Carney some Soundcloud love by hitting the like button below!

Ooah and LoBounce Make FIRE

Ooah and LoBounce together make my pants so happy. Take this track for example. So much goodness it can hardly be contained!

I've been looking forward to hearing their tracks as soon as I found out they'd teamed up and here we are! These two mammoths in the scene have an EP, called Get Primal, coming out soon so look out for it and jam it when it releases.

Also, get after Ooah and LoBounce if you haven't already. It's necessary so that you can live your life to the fullest.

Cheapshot gets Beatnuts Off The Books

New Cheapshot is here, ya'll. And not only is Cheapshot at it again, he's picked a personal favorite of mine to love up. I've been all over the Beatnuts' nuts since the early-90's when all they were putting out were EP's so when I see a new angle on the track I loved back in the day (1997 to be exact) from an artist I love current day, I'm stoked.

If you're not aware of DJ Cheapshot, you must be new here (See?). But no worries, you are now acquainted and you can now rip through the back-catalogue with wild abandon.

Check Cheapshot at your earliest convenience and gobble up everything he has to offer. It's worth your time and effort.

Sweekuh gets that petrol out

Sweekuh, out of Philly, gives us a tasty album that he's made FREE for us all to download and enjoy. The 5 track album has everything from dancefloor bangers (L'Emergency) to housey feelin groove (Till Vandalism) and ends with a piano driven mash up of Above & Beyond's track Small Moments and Zedd's track Spectrum, but the fact remains this is a fun album that has enough fire to ignite any party like a blood drenched Carrie.

I've posted the album in it's entirety and you can see for yourself how tasty the album really is. Using samples from artists as random as Zedd, Justice and Above & Beyond, and then remixing Bingo Players makes this album a little bit of this and a little bit of that. You'll see my two favorites below first, but the rest of the album is very deserving a listen.

Once you've finished, you can follow Sweekuh HERE and enjoy the other stuff he has out there.

L'Emergency by Sweekuh

Cry Wolf Likes Charity

What happens when you get remix maestro's involved with a great artist like The Knife? Well that's an easy answer, but yeah to state the obvious, it's greatness. Cry Wolf (these guys!) want you to remember what it is like to groove with purpose.

This track as good as it is, isn't the only of its kind. Cry Wolf has a remix album coming out that this is a part of and I for one cannot wait until it drops.

Follow the boys of Cry Wolf and watch out for what they have coming up. It's always goodness raining from above.

Kraddy Let's Go

Kraddy, has been putting out goodness for a long time now. He's never really been in the shadows, but yet, I've never posted him before. Strange as that might be, he really does put out the quality.

This track is no different. Nice heavy bass, glitchy synth work and a lyricist by the name of Juice Aleem makes this tune nice and blappin'.

Follow Kraddy HERE, cop his last album HERE and enjoy one of the founding members of glitch as we know it.

ViLLAGE gets us up in the morning

You really never know what's going to pop up when you're on Turntable.fm late at night. That's when the people who like the 'weird stuff' tend to come out. But it's not all cats screeching to theramins and bro-step deluxe. There's some genuine goodness floating out there as well. That's where I found this joint, from a cat named Pusha T Washington.

This track from ViLLAGE, a producer who doesn't have a lot of info out there (except an active Facebook), Looking at the catalogue, it's clear to see this guy is worth following. Older stuff and newer stuff alike are greatness. Follow him as I have and be like me and wait impatiently for newness to drop.

Blackbird Goes Deep on Adele

Great remix of Adele's track Rolling In The Deep. Blackbird Blackbird does it right with chopped, screwed, and juked workings on this track.

It's a fun re-think to this otherwise overdone joint.

Bodhi with the XX Groove Bass

I'm always on the lookout for chill bass, lazer bass, ghetto bass, crunk bass, and every other kind of bass that's out there. Groove Bass is one of them, and Bodhi, a duo out of Cardiff, delivers as always with their re-work of The XX's track Angels.

Not sure how and when I started following Bodhi, but the small amount of tracks they have on their Soundcloud are a re-affirmation of why I followed them. They've got a lot of goodness in the same vein as this track and it's all worth a listen.

Hopefully their output increases and we can all get more doses of that Groove Bass. And as a bonus, enjoy an old remix of Aaliyah's Say My Name. Always a sucker for Aaliyah remixes.

More Fire for your Friday

CloZee is back again on this beautiful Friday with another Glitch hybrid piece. In true CloZee style, this wonderful piece takes a dive into the classical realm, siding glitchy wubs alongside a fully orchestrated ensemble. The result is a track that just oozes with style and personality. As a major bonus the song has been featured in the short film 'Hidden Personality' starring Kwan, by OckeFilms. Jam the track, and check the amazing video as well. Happy Friday!

PARTY BRUH

It's FRIDAY bro-dudes and brudettes. So what you gonna do this weekend? Maybe go broller blading? Check out the Brodeo?

Well whatever you do, you should give Dr. Deimos new track "Bro Music" a listen.

This raging party banger deserves a standing brovation.

.. but seriously it's pretty awesome. Grab the free download!

Stumbleine Chills

Stumbleine is a favorite for us here at Waxhole (See?). When we need something to chill to, to wake up to or to just generally vibe to. So when a new EP comes out from Stumbleine, we're all over it.

I've included my three favorites here, but the whole 5 track EP is worth the listen and purchase. Check that HERE, and follow Stumbleine HERE.

An-Ten-Nae ramps up to Acid Crunk X

An-Ten-Nae (he's baaaack!) churns out them goodies on the regular, and even though I haven't posted much lately from him, that doesn't mean he's stopped. He's been working so much that he has his 10th Acid Crunk EP out!

Ten of these Acid Crunks is hard to believe there've been so many, but looking back on the artists he's had collaborate and contribute you remember why you love him and the series so much. For a refresher or for an introduction check his page HERE and buy a few Acid Crunk albums.

Check out this trapped out remix of Santigold's Freak Like Me as well as a fun mix of Major Lazer's track Get Free. So follow An-Ten-Nae and cop that Acid Crunk X EP (HERE) sharpish.

SPHERES rages your brain

So yeah, got an absolutely brilliant space journey banger in my box from this kid.. aaand the track is private so I can't share.

I feel like I just got the ultimate music blog troll. Well that's OK because it turns out SPHERES has a giant catalogue of outstanding tunes.

Check out the rest of his songs (all with free downloads) HERE

Phantom Shilla with some more Greatness

Phantom Shilla is back at it again with some more chilled out goodness.  Two tracks that follow up his debut on the blog (HERE) quite well.

The first track, 25 Years, is one he made and released on his 25th birthday.  So first off, everyone tell him Happy Belated Birthday, and second, enjoy the track, then thridly, Download and finally share with everyone you know.  The vocals coupled with the drums and atmospheric synths really make for an enjoyable listen.

The second track, A Nightingale, is a little more chilled, but still quite good.  The use of the vocal sample with the melody really evokes the emotions, whatever they might be at that particular time.

As I mentioned before in the first post of his music, you need to follow this guy (Danny Corker is the name) and enjoy what he comes out with.  He won't disappoint.

Wednesday Love

xxyyxx has a lovely new remix out this morning. This chilled out remix of Tinashe's "Let You Love Me" is quite a treat for the ears, starting off with nice slow jam vibes and ending with a little dip in the Trap pool. Enjoy and happy hump day!

Foreign Beggars do Birdy Nam Nam

So for those who don't need syrup with their eggs, but rather chili piquin's, here's your fire to wake up to.

Foreign Beggars doin' their thing to Birdy Nam Nam is one of those matches made in heaven kinda things. Always great to see two favorites get together for a remix or collaboration. Always!

Birdy Nam Nam's Jaded Future EP, which this track is featured on, is a collection of remixes and such that will also include a remix by another Waxhole favorite, Culprate.

Foreign Beggars you've seen on here before (See?), but Birdy Nam Nam, not so much ( :( ).  That doesn't mean Birdy isn't good, just that we've missed posting until now.  At any rate follow them both (Foreign Beggars' Soundcloud, Birdy Nam Nam's Soundcloud) for some good tunes and enjoy this track to the utmost.

Wednesday nicety

Not much to say this early in the morning, but this track helps pry those eyelids open with a little lighter touch.

These two guys from Lancaster, UK are killin' it. Follow them sharpish and get your Bondax on.

Griz gets Funky!

A wild day at Waxhole with our first remix competition dropping doesn't diminish the fact that there is great music still being dropped. This time it's from Griz, a producer out of Detroit, known mostly for his dubsteppin' bangers. He's given us something a little different, and I am absolutely digging it.

While Griz's style of dubstep is more on the groovin' side, these two tracks below show a full-fledged attempt to get the booties shakin' without abandon.

The first track is a fun and funky vibe, with wubs and bass peaking through like tufts of hair through a knit hat makin' it one great tune to bump along to. About a month ago, Griz released a track (second one below) that showed a continuation or maturation out of the dubstep box and this first track below reinforces that not only was it a successful step, but one that should continue.

You say you're not following Griz these days? Well do it HERE and be happy. You're in on the ground floor of what could be a new chapter of Griz.

Kinematix gets Funky

It's one thing to make your groovin' funky track, but entirely a different story to make it GOOD. Kinematix has done just that. Taken some good ol' horn driven funk and infusing some ear ticklin' fuzzy bass to the mix to make an even groovier track.

Kinematix has been feature on the blog a few times and this track shows why he continues to be watched, followed, and anticipated. He's got goodness in his knob-tweakin fingers and we love it when he drops a new joint.

So listen to this, groove down on it then follow Kinematix for more goodies. And for a bonus, enjoy his rework of Roberta Flack, one of Soul's heroes.

Friday Night Smoothness

For those of us stuck inside on a Friday night, we don't need bangin' ragers to remind us of what we're missing outside. We need something chill, jazzy and smoothe, to let us know that we can have fun inside too!

So with that I'm bringing some goodness from Shigeto, care of Ghostly Records. A single from Shigeto is exciting enough, but add remixes by Sun Glitters, Braille, Sun Hammer and Evenings and it's even more better. I've included the original single, which was shown to the world awhile ago plus the new Evenings remix as well as a bonus remix from Sun Glitters of another Shigeto tune, Lineage. Just because I've left a few tracks off of the post doesn't mean the rest of the set isn't worth listening to, so check it out HERE. Check out Shigeto and check out the great great Ghostly Records for more excellent music.
