winding down

It's been an incredible day here at Waxhole!

Lots of outstanding music and some record breaking numbers.

Someone just popped this into my turntable room and I thought it was quite the end of day jam.

I couldn't find much information on ill.so.naj other than the name is the solo alias of Wes Harden out of Detroit.

What I do know is what I hear. And that is an outstanding glitchy, downtempo, track with a gorgeous piano line.

Hope you guys like!

  1. Thank you so much for the post!

Here's some more info on me: other than beats i also produce artwork. you can check it out at illsonaj.carbonmade.com

I am part of a detroit based label/artist collective called Deepblip Records. Watch out for our summer compilation coming out this week!!!

you really nailed it with the description! definitely an end of the day track, winding things down, giving one last push. A little background on the track itself: the piano line is a chopped and resequenced lick that came from a piano line i was recording with my iPhone. the original unchopped line was actually me attempting to tab out "across the pale sea" by Wisp. The soft guitar and vocal samples came from another iPhone recording at a St. Vincent show when they were covering "These Days" by Neko and the Velvet Underground.

So there you go! thanks again for the post and for enjoying!
